Oh beer! America’s liquid gold rush. It’s a staple in many individual’s daily routine, and most runners will tell you that there is nothing better than the feeling of a delicious brew after traveling several miles by foot. Something about those freshly released endorphins amplify the bubbly awesomeness of a good beer. Scratch that, it honestly doesn’t have to be a “good” beer to enjoy this pleasant effect. Throw us a PBR and we’ll shut up and drink it.

Beer has been a major part of culture for an absurd amount of time. A 3,900-year-old Sumerian poem honoring the patron goddess of brewing, Ninkasi, was discovered in Mesopotamia. The poem actually contains the oldest surviving beer recipe. We decided it was our turn to honor the lovely Ninkasi. We started by writing her a new poem, but that wasn’t enough, so we created these beige framed polarized sunglasses with a frothy beer print and amber lenses. In other words, the perfect shades for your next beer mile.

goodr’s Hymn to Ninkasi, the goddess of brewing:

Birthed from odorless liquid,

Tasted and tended to by cicerones,

Birthed from odorless liquid,

Tasted and tended to by cicerones,

Ninkasi, having established a village near water,

She invented a liquid gold,

Ninkasi, having established a village near water,

She invented a liquid gold,

Ninkasi, your father has a dad bod thanks to you,

Your mother Ninti, rules with a hangover.

Ninkasi, your father has a dad bod thanks to you,

Your mother Ninti, rules with a hangover.

Ninkasi, you took bread and turned it into the feeling of invincibility

A mix of nature’s tears with the flavors of life.

Ninkasi, you took bread and turned it into the feeling of invincibility

A mix of nature’s tears with the flavors of life.

Ninkasi, WE LOVE YOU!
